God has made and continues to make us into vessels of honor.

God created each of us physically.
Psalm 139:13-14 says, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
We are exactly the way He designed us to be, and each of us is fearfully and wonderfully made. God chose our hair color, our eye color, and our skin color. He determined if we would be short or tall and thin or curvy.
He also shaped our basic personality. Although our environment may affect our personality, God determined parts of our personality when He made us. He determined if we would be talkative or quiet; scheduled or spontaneous; introverted or extroverted. He caused some of us to be natural leaders and others natural followers.
He also chose when, where, and to whom each of us would be born which further affected our personalities.
God also created us spiritually.
When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are born again and made new.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
Old things have passed away. Old habits are done away with, old ways of thinking are made new, and old attitudes are adjusted. Anything that does not line up with what God has chosen us for is made new.
God re-creates those parts of us that have been tainted by sin so that they can now be more effectively used for Him.
Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
This verse is talking about our second creation. The phrase “in Christ” tells us that God is talking about after or as we are saved. When we are saved, God recreates us as He determines, gives us new desires, implants new ways of thinking, and gives us the spiritual gifts that we need to fulfill His plans for us.
We tend to think that God looks at us and evaluates our abilities to decide what He wants us to do, but according to Ephesians 2:10, He planned works for us “beforehand.”
Psalm 139:16 indicates that He also planned our works before we were even created. “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” He planned our days before He formed us.
It seems that God decides what He wants to do then He creates a person, physically and spiritually, to fit that purpose.
God transforms us into the image of His Son.
God isn’t done yet. He continues to make us into the vessel He has planned and intends to use by continually making us more like Jesus. He molds our character, adjusts our attitudes, and guides our actions. As become more like Jesus, we are able to reflect and share God’s love with the world around us and we become a vessel of honor that He will use.
Remember:
We were originally made in His image.
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27
We are being transformed into the image of Jesus.
“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18
We are predestined to be conformed to His image.
“For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” Romans 8:29
We are to cooperate by be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2
Praise God! He has made us as He desired, and He is transforming us into the perfect image of His Son. If we desire to be a Vessel of Honor, we can pray, “God, Make Me.”
