He always knows what is best.

What if you knew someone who always knew the right thing to say and do? Would you go to them for advice and do the things they recommended? If you are wise, you would. And you do. If you know God, you know the One who is always right.

We can trust Him because of His complete wisdom. There is nothing He does not know. He is the possessor and creator of all wisdom. There is no wisdom without Him.

God expresses His wisdom in Creation. O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions (Psalm 104:24). When we look at nature, we see the wisdom of God. How the animals reproduce after their own kind. How the flowers are pollinated by the bees and reproduce through seed-bearing. How plants produce food through photosynthesis and provide food for animals. How all creation works together to glorify its Creator.

We partially see God’s wisdom in man’s ability to know and learn. God created us with the ability to learn His ways and follow them. When we do so, we exhibit the wisdom of God. Through His wisdom, He designed man to be His special creation who can know and relate to Him. But let us not think our own wisdom is anything compared to God’s.

Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”; and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours (1 Corinthians 3:8-21).

God’s wisdom cannot be harnessed; it can only be appreciated by those with whom He reveals it. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding (Proverbs 2:6). Therefore, let us seek His wisdom and be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil (Ephesians 5:15-16).

Obtaining the wisdom God gives will cause us to live at peace with God and our fellow man. The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy (James 3:17). God’s wisdom teaches us the right way to do things.

To God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen (Romans 16:27).
