What if we, the Christian church in America, gave ourselves entirely to prayer?  What if we prayed until we saw God work?  What if we were willing to confess our sin of apathy and surrender ourselves to do whatever God calls us to do?  What if we were willing to say, “Yes, Lord” to any command He gave? 

What if?

What if we decided to pray for each of our family members?  What if we spent more time praying and less time arguing? What if their spiritual lives meant more to us than their physical? What if we realized that we might be the only ones who can make a difference?

What if?

What if we decided to pray for God to use our church to change our town?  What if we prayed for our pastor on a daily basis? What if we asked others to pray for us? What if we prayed for others when they asked us to, right then and there?  What if we prayed over every problem we see in our churches and quit complaining?

What if?

What if all the churches in our community led prayer efforts to reach our towns?  What if we prayed and watched to see what God would call us to do?  What if we obeyed when He spoke? What if we all decided to love others regardless of their status or color? What if all the churches worked together to clothe the poor and feed the hungry?

What if?

What if we decided to love others the way Jesus does? What if we accepted and forgave all? What if we truly loved our neighbors as ourselves? What if we loved our enemies and showed them kindness? What if we prayed for those who treat us unkindly and refused to return evil for evil?

What if?

What if we read the Bible on a consistent basis? What if we lived by what it says? What if we completely grasped and believed what God says about Himself in the Word? What if we fully trusted in His promises? What if the Word truly became our standard for daily life?

What if?

What if we really began to take Jesus at His Word? What if we acted on the words He taught? What if we prayed every day, “Lord, help my unbelief”? What if we really began to walk by faith and not by sight? What if we set our minds on things above and not things of the earth?

What if?

What if we focused only on pleasing God? What if we truly reflected the love of Christ? What if we prayed each day, “Thy will be done”? What if we did everything for the glory of God?

What if …. What might God do?

What are you willing to do?
