He is unlimited to knowledge. He knows everything.

Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure. Psalm 147:5 ESV

The fact that God knows everything is a huge concept, so let’s take it down a bit.

God knows everything about each of us. He knows our comings and goings and whether we are reclined, seated, or standing. He also knows our thoughts and our words, even before we say them. He knows where we are every minute of every day. We cannot hide from Him. He knew us as we were being formed in our mother’s womb, and He had our days planned for us. Much more, His thoughts of us cannot be numbered; they are more than the grains of sand. (see Psalm 139).

God knows everything about us. Jesus said, “even the very hairs of your head are all numbered” (Matthew 10:30 NIV). The average number of hairs on a human head is 100,000. Blondes have the most averaging 150,000, and redheads have the least at 90,000. Brunetts land somewhere in the middle. But averages are just that, the average of everyone together.

God knows the exact number of hairs on your head. A number that changes every day. Each person loses 50 to 100 hairs a day. Throughout the day, as one hair falls out, God knows the exact number. We are also constantly growing new hair to replace those that have fallen out. The second a new hair pierces through your scalp, God knows the number has increased.

Not only does God know the number of hairs on your head, He also knows the number of hairs on every other person on the earth. According to http://www.worldometer.info, the current population of earth is approximately 7.95 billion people. This number increases every 4 seconds and (if nothing changes) will surpass 8 billion by 2025. That is a lot of people. Now, consider that God knows the exact number of hairs on almost 8 billion people at every single minute of every day.

My oldest grandson was born with long thick curly black hair. My youngest was born with much less blond hair, but as it grew it thickened and curled. So, I have a curly dark headed boy and a curly blond headed boy. But wait, I have a third grandchild on the way. With today’s technology we knew early on that he would be a boy. So, then the question became – will he be dark headed or blond headed, and will he have the curls like his brothers? Only God knows.

As a MeeMa, I would count every hair on that boy’s head the day he is born if I could. I cannot, but my God already knows. Do you see what comfort God’s infinite knowledge brings? I also have a son in the Navy. Often, he cannot disclose his location to us, but God knows. And more important – He cares. If He cares how many hairs are on our head, certainly He care to know where we are, what we are doing, and how we are doing.

Let’s take comfort in knowing that God knows!
