On October 3, 1863, Abraham Lincoln called the America people “to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens.” As we celebrate Thanksgiving Day, let us not forget that our thanks is to be primarily to God our Father. We often thank Him for family, friends, homes, provisions, health and happiness; but do we remember to thank Him for the spiritual blessing He gives.
